Treatment Foster Care (TFC) can be the best of both worlds for a child: providing intensive therapy and mental health services in a supportive family setting. The program is based in the community: Working closely with social workers and therapists, foster parents provide in-home care to emotionally disturbed children from ages eight to 21. Our staff thoroughly trains each foster parent, then carefully matches the parent with a child to ensure the best and most positive placement.
“We want children to live in a home, to know what it is to have a family, to learn to trust. Our foster parents really care about children and want to help them. And the Treatment Foster Care team is here to support the family and the child. ”
Valerie Mims, Manager Treatment Foster Client ServicesEach child sets clear benchmarks and goals, and attends a school appropriate to the diagnosis (including the Woodbourne School). We support foster parents 24/7 with services ranging from psychiatric evaluations to family therapy to case management.
